Stop the L.I.E.S.*

(Stop the Lesbian/gay Indoctrination in Every School)

WCTU continues its battle to stop the homosexual agenda in Maryland's schools. Working with various other family organizations, including, Citizens for a Responsible Curriculum(CRC) the WCTU continues work to improve Health courses in public schools. WCTU believes the Health course should teach information based on scientific facts, not unreliable information created by special interest groups.

* Stop the L.I.E.S. is a PowerPoint presentation which documents the flow of pro-homosexual materials into our schools. All Rights Reserved.

100th Anniversary Celebration
of Frances Willard’s Statue in Statuary Hall

On February 17, 2005, the WCTU held a ceremony in Statuary Hall of the United States Capitol. We celebrated the 100th Anniversary of the Acceptance of the Frances Willard Statue into Statuary Hall. Excerpts from original prayers and speeches were read, as well as, new presentations. Each one who attended was presented with a long stem white rose with a Scripture verse attached with a white ribbon bow. White roses were part of the ceremony 100 years ago.

Gifts to the Children
National Institute of Health

The major project chosen for 2005, was to help the children at The Children's Inn, National Institute of Health, Bethesda, MD.

WCTU donated Gift Cards to major department stores so the children who arrived without clothes could shop and choose what they wanted to wear. We also donated Calling Cards so the children could keep in touch with their families back home waiting for them.

In addition, we donated scrap booking supplies: such as, scissors that cut special fancy edges, magic markers, special papers, etc. which enable the children could create scrapbooks with their new friends and fun times at the Children's Inn.

April 2007, Easter was on our minds as we donated a large Easter basket to the Children's Inn. So many goodies that they all would not fit in. Children were given Hot Wheels, toy boats, playing cards, games, puzzles, stuffed animals, jars of bubbles, air foam guns, among other items

On May 10, 2004, the expanded facility opened the doors of 22 new rooms and has operated at near capacity on many nights. The Children's Inn is a warm and comforting place like home for brave young patients who often endure more pain and discomfort than most of us could ever imagine. We encourage you to get involved!

Items donated included a TV, VCR, many age appropriate video tapes, popcorn, arts and crafts, and mats to sit on among other items.

War on Christmas

WCTU has always advocated keeping Christ in Christmas. We not only encourage you to attend worship services through out the year but also to keep Christ at the center of you life. Why not consider creating a  Chrismon Tree in your home or church during Christmas.
